Beijing Capital International Airport Company Limited (BCIA) was founded in October 1999 to operate and manage Beijing International Airport. In February 2000, 1,346,150,000 H shares of BCIA were listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. After the completion of two placements of H shares to institutional or professional investors in Hong Kong in 2006 and 2008 respectively, the total share capital of BCIA increased to 4,330,890,000 shares. Capital Airports Holding Company (CAH) holds 2,451,526,000 domestic shares, representing 56.61% of the total share capital, while the public investors hold 1,879,364,000 H shares, representing 43.39% of the total share capital.

Led by a strong management team, BCIA’s 1600 devoted staff strives to develop Beijing Capital International Airport into a large international aviation hub.

Beijing Capital International Airport is the largest airport under CAH. Known as China’s No.1 gateway, it is also the most important and largest airport in China. Beijing Capital International Airport is located in the Northeast of the Beijing city, 25 kilometers from the Tiananmen Square. It has 3 runways, 3 terminals and 2 air traffic control towers operating simultaneously.

In 2016, Beijing Capital International Airport handled 606 thousand aircraft movements and served 94.39 million passengers, keeping it the second busiest passenger airport in the world.
